When in Dubai

There’s something about Dubai that feels like stepping into a postcard,  only the postcard comes alive around you. The moment I arrived, I felt wrapped in a warmth that went way beyond the desert sun. It was the warmth of the people, the vibrancy, of the energy. It is  a country that’s both beautifully modern and deeply rooted in tradition. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how alive the city feels. It’s a city that celebrates contrast… bold yet graceful, fast yet grounded.

I spent one afternoon at The Mall, and if I’m honest, it felt like I was wandering through a dream. Every shop was more tempting than the next, each display classy with just the right amount of sparkle. I wandered from boutique to boutique, tea in hand, taking in the scents, textures, and chatter that make shopping here an experience in itself. The decor was so beautiful.  I certainly felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman… if you know, you know.

But the real heart of my days was spent by the sea. The beach became my favorite place. The sound of waves mingling, the feeling of soft sand beneath my feet, the horizon stretching endlessly ahead. There’s something healing about salt water, sun, and simplicity. The times when I put my book down, I watched families gather, friends toast the sunset, and children build castles that the tide would soon gently reclaim. It reminded me of what matters most in our time together, unhurried and honest. I got a huge collection of seashells for my man.

And then, of course, the food. Oh, the food. From the rich spices of local dishes to the comfort of something familiar…  like finally trying Raising Cane’s (which, by the way, lived up to every bit of its promise). Every meal was a story. Each bite told me something about Dubai’s global soul.

Dubai is a place that dazzles, yes, but it also grounds you. It reminds you to slow down and to be grateful.

So, when in Dubai, I found beauty in everything from the skyline to the sea, and in the stillness of family time that made it all mean so much more.

With Love,

Anaiá Jonas Xx
