How to Bake a Delicious Ginger Cake

Ginger Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
• 200g Brown sugar
• 200g self-raising flour
• 200g butter (softened)
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 4 tsp ground ginger
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp nutmeg
• Vanilla extract
• 3 eggs
Instructions:
1. Preheat and Prepare:
• Preheat your oven to 180°C
• Grease and line a cake tin with parchment paper.
2. Cream Butter and Sugar:
• In a large mixing bowl, add the butter ( 200g) and sugar (200g)
• Cream them together using an electric mixer or wooden spoon until the mixture is light and fluffy.
3. Add Eggs:
• Crack in the eggs (3) into your bowl
• Mix until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
4. Add your spice and all things nice:
• Add the ginger (4 tsp), cinnamon (2 tsp), and nutmeg (1 tsp) to the mixture.
• Add a hint of vanilla extract (1 tsp)
• Stir well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
5. Fold in Dry Ingredients:
• Sift the self-raising flour and baking powder into the bowl.
• Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a wooden spoon, being careful not to overmix.
6. Bake:
• Pour the batter into your prepared cake tin and ensure that the top is smooth.
• Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Decorate :
• Once the cake is completely cool, drizzle the salted caramel over the top or spread it for full coverage. Let the cake cool in the tin for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
